Pune (India)

Educo (Intervida) is creating infrastructures (small schools, medical attention) for the families of the workers of the many construction sites in the fast growing city of Pune . Workers move with their entire family to the sites where they often live in extreme conditions. We visited some of the sites and interviewed the builders and their family members.

Educo also assists women in the creation of CORE groups. The purpose of the groups is to provide counseling,  teach women to protect themselves against domestic violence, approach official bodies and become independent by learning new tasks like making bags, decorating fabrics
